A couple of things on my mind for the man himself (it won't let me post this - no reasons seem to apply so I'm going to break it down in case it's too long):

1)
I'm a member under a parent's name for their credit card. However, my membership expires soon and I'd like to get the next one on my (recently obtained) credit card to save a little hassle. The only thing is can I take my unused reddies with me?

2)
Cheap PC's. I think I may have mentioned it before, but what about some bottom of the market/end of range cheap pc's? Every student I know would love a basic pc to work on, but most can't afford it.
I know you must mostly sell to financially comfortable customers, many of whom already have a good (internet capable if buying online) pc of their own due to the nature of the sr club thing, and would only look to get a new pc as an upgrade. Hence the £800 starting price.
However, students are so easy to market to, all rounded up in halls of residence and uni buildings. You could do as little as get someone to go round pushing fliers under doors. All students need is a very basic package capable of word processing with MS word, maybe internet capability, perhaps able to take basic games to double as a simple console. No printers, dvd's, cd writers, anything (work can be copied to disk and printed off at pubilc computer rooms (which get very overcrowded, especially near deadlines).
High street outlets offer their most basic packages without accessories at as low as £400 (not on special offer), and I know you guys are capable of bettering that.
£300, lower if possible, of course, and you could sell so many. Imagine if you targeted A-level colleges in average to wealthy areas in the build up to final exams and going to uni, you couldn't make money any easier if I had put it in your hand and all you had to do was move it to your wallet.

Try setting up a sister company under a different name (to disassociate it from sr top quality products) and target students hard?
Well, it sounds like you have your mind pretty made up anyway, but if youwanted to try it on a small scale, I, and some other sr uni customers no doubt, would take a job delivering leaflets or something.

We have launched cheap PC's before. They don't sell very well for us, there is virtually no profit it them and people get easily disatisfied with them.

What we do instead is produce a jolly good machine at the lowest possible price (with very little profit I might add).

This allows us to retain our strong quality image!

Reddies are not attached to a particular membership. So you CAN still use them.

Also - you can renew your old membership and change the name to your name at the same time. In fact you can change the name at any time. No problem, just phone 0870 725 9999.

It does not like you posting a list because of the requirement for spaces. I have reported this after having some problems myself when I listed the voters for chat.

I didn't really have to spend anything on one cos I have an uncle who can make one from scratch. But I already had a laptop which was bought for me as a present.

Very good idea!

How about working with big universities and colleges to provide a discount service to students?

I remember when I was a student {oh no! he's off again..} it was pretty difficult affording that important PC (a 486 by then) and luckily I had a grant.

Actually, the second year's grant paid for my Playstation, brand new at the time, and lots of pints of course.
