First Bush decides that he wants a piece of Iran, and the next minute he's right on the button suggesting links between Iran and 9/11.
No evidence, but that doesn't matter. There was no evidence of links between Iraq and 9/11, but by continually suggesting the possibility and throwing the two together in the same sentances, Bush's pr managed to get the majority of the fricking country believing Saddam was involved.
So he's trying it again.
Meanwhile Jeb's also sticking to the same 'if it ain't broke' policy. Democrats in Florida are complaining that once again the Bush family is preparing to d*ck on the notion of democracy by falsely denying votes to the democrat demographic.
At first glance I was shocked they'd go back to the same old stunts to screw people over - surely that's just retarded? Be grateful you got away with it once, don't push your luck!
But thinking about it, I get the imprssion they may well pull it off again.
In a country so obsessed with freedom (Statue of Liberty, Independence day, Freedom Towers, Liberty Bell... all reflecting an underlying mindset), I'm stunned to see how easily people let it slip.
Not that I'm deluded enough to think we're so different over here of course.
But it seems like (just short of) half the country don't care about republicans f***ing both the electorate and the very notion of democracy, because so long as 'their side' won, democracy just isn't that important.
I know people will tend to believe what they want to believe (ie, that their political party aren't unelected dictators), but when the *facts* prove it, when it's all been presented for you, surely that's not a denial, it's got to be a willful acceptance of the rape ?
And the other half of the country, in large quantities people just seem so apathetic about it. Sure, they're not living under a democracy any more, but it's too much effort to care.
I guess they're right, we (like I said, I figure we're more or less the same here) are idiots.

Trust me, it's not. Course i may have missed that day they saved the world from Alien invasion all on their lonsesome when the Futurama marathon was on :-D
They really do insist on getting "free" or "freedom" into the name of anything.
It's crazy.
It worries me that America probably really is like how it's portrayed in the movies.
I concur.
Except that what you wrote made sense. And I hope Bush doesn't win the next election....
