I have never used CD Wow before and have seen that they do Alias Season 2 for just under £25 which is £10 cheaper than any other place. My question is about custom charges as anything over £18 is subject to custom charges, some get away with out paying while others dont. So what is the experience from people here with items over £18 ? Did you get the custom charge or not? I think that custom charges are 4% of the item then add VAT(17.5% to the total cost of the item, p+p and duty) plus another £4 or so in collection charges.

Also do CD Wow ship everything from Hong Kong? As I see they have an Office in England.

I recently (since they bought in these charges) bought something from them costing £18.99, and... Nope. Didn't get charged an extra penny!

I think it's only by the bad luck of the hat you'll get charged any extra. I think it's only when they find a 'strange-looking' parcel coming through that they feel they need to check it, or whatever happens...

So, just be careful what you order. ;)

The bigger the cost of an item you're looking to buy, the greater chunk of change you would have to fork-over if you are charged extra.

I bought some stuff from them, and if I remember rightly, it was shipped from Hong Kong. However, there were no issues and I just paid the price that was on the website, with no charges of any sort.

I think CD WOW mark them down as gifts.

I have some stuff coming from Hong Kong via DHL - they should avoid the Parcelfarce Clearance Fee for sure. Might still have to pay VAT though...

Hope not.

Not worth it then, as its only £10 cheaper and with that sort of charge it will push it up past £35.
