Where on earth am I going wrong?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8116544111&sspagename=STRK%3AMESO%3AIT&rd=1 for my latest travesty of a sale.

Yes, Championship Manager 4 may now be outdated, but it was kept in very good condition and should surely be worth more than £2.70.

This has been a worrying trend of late with most of my auctions. No matter what I do - £0.99; no reserve; detailed and well laid out description; review quotes; interesting sale pitches; offering PayPal; shameful plugs on the forums; etc - I'm always frustrated by failure. It's also often the case that somebody selling the same item in roughly the same condition gets a better price.

This is just one example of a fair few disappointments. Can anybody recommend any improvements to my technique that will perhaps add-on an extra pound or so? Perhaps listing auctions to end at a specific time, or shortening the auction length? Because I'm running out of ideas.

Your experienced advice is very welcome.

Hmm... I've always welcomed more information when buying something. It gives me a clearer picture of what I'm actually getting.

Long auctions tend to bore people, you want a condensed few comments about condition, where you'll post and whats contained. Possibly briefly stating that you think the idea is a good buy with evidence is good, but keep it as brief as you can without making it unclear. People hate reading a lot of stuff for such a cheap item.

I find that if I type loads of stuff people hardly read- I only scanned over your listing.

For instance:
