Be more chill is a new book by Ned Vizzini. The title instantly appealed to me because it doesn't really make sense. Be more chilled or chill would make sense, but this title seems grammatically incorrect, making it unusual and unique. Looking through the book, you notice how their are loads of chapters: 49 in total. However after starting the book you realize that these chapters are short, breaking the book down into bitesize chunks. This somehow makes the book easier to read. The plot line evolved around a teenage boy who isn't very popular trying to win over the girl of dreams... sounds cliched until I tell you the twist. He is given a pill (a squip)to make him be cool, but the squip doesn't do what its meant to. I think this is a good book as it is interseting and keeps the readers interest throughout. However I think it is probably better suited for boys as the main character is a boy. This book is written in language that is easy to understand... however it may be inappropriate for some kids because of swearing the book contains.
