With consoles like the PS2, X-box and the dolphin on the horizon, the games industry is going to be massive, the competition between the consoles will be tremendous.
With loads of consoles competing for the crown of the best console the games pouring out for each console should be amazing. With Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid 2 and updated Mario games in the near future the gaming industry is looking up, although it remains to be seen which console will run over each other.
Even though Sony has 92% of the market, the dolphin and the X-box could be well on the way to stopping that, because as each console comes out they should be more and more impressive.
Sony are even beggining work on producing a Playstation 3, which should be greater than all the consoles out at present.
For all the gamers out there the future of gaming is looking up.

There is no ONE good console, they all have different personalities. The PS2 was released early so has the head start with drawing in the people, and has already released a heavy arsenal of great games. The X-Box hopefully the next super console to be released, not many big things have been said in Microsoft's favour, but it's looks like a tasty machine and we should expect big things especially good internet games. The Gamecube, should have been released this year, but sadly as if it wasn't expected it's been delayed until next Spring, a shame but I don't mind, i'm pretty sure that the rest of the Nintendo fans will wait aswell.
