Then when you have watched it you take it back, swipe your card and place it in the return tray and are charged for how long you have had it out.
Only has around 15 movies on it though, 10 maybe recent top chart ones and then a few classics.
Seems like a cool idea though, surprised that we havn't seen any around here though.
Then I thought I wonder if it would be possible to have a machine that burns the movies on to re-writeable DVD's for you there and then so that instead of being only able to choose from 15 or so you could infact choose from a much larger selection of films.
Could have them located at petrol stations/supermarkets etc
Hopefully something similar will happen here.
Not a bad idea, but if they can't make them recyclable, there's no point.
It reminds me that just a couple of years ago someone at work was banging on about how, in New Zealand, they have credit card petrol pumps working 24 hours without the need for any staff in the petrol station and how the UK was stupid for not having them.
Now they're everywhere here and every time I go to get petrol all I hear is people complaining they haven't pressed the button to pay at the till and don't want any new-fangled credit card scheme. You have to wonder about this British mentality sometimes.
You still get stuck for things to rent though.
