I saw this yesterday for the first time - I was very impressed with it indeed!! Its a chilling modern day story which wasnt actually as scary as I was lead to believe - I think it was another case of hype building up which never really exceeds expectations. I was expecting it to be a lot more frightening than it was, some bits make you jump but thats about it.
Its a well worked story with the attention never really escaping the two main characters played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford - I dont want to give much away but the role played by Harrison Ford is somewhat different than you are use to seeing, playing a 'bad guy' was unexpected!!
Most of the film had a sort of Hitchcock touch to it, Psycho and Rear Window in particular. There are some scenes that will make you turn away in fear, most of all in the bath!! It never really oversteps the line and prooves that not all movies need special effects to make them great!!
I enjoyed this film, it wasnt what I expected at all but is one that I look forward to owning!!
