Today I was surprised to find another user account on my XP - the myserious 'bite me'. It has appeared, taking the role of Computer Administrator. When I switch my account back to Admin and remove 'bite me's' status to Limited I can't delete the account, it says I don't have permission. I can't the time etc either - so it looks like my account still has Limited access.

Does anyone know anything about this or what I can do!? I am stumped.

Well if he logs out of his admin account no one can create an account.

Its easy for someone to add an account on windows XP, it might not be neccesarily harmful. Have you opened any batch files (.BAT) recently, or any programs which are strange, because it only takes a program to shell to DOS commands to add an account.
I wouldnt worry about it too much - Sure someone you know who has used your computer hasnt added it?

Ran in Safe Mode and the account disappeared, then when logged in as myself in Normal Mode I could delete the account with no problems.

Weird.

Reboot in Safe Mode (Jam the F8 Key after the BIOS has finished doing its business) and login as Admin, see if you can correct it there.
