When I turn on my computer and it is loading up, the green light of the CD ReWriter is on and everyone is home. Then, in the final seconds of loading up before it starts loading the Desktop, the CD ReWriter just switches off. It is recognised on my computer but cannot read anything or write anything. It still has power because I can open the CD drive but it wont read/write anything.
Any Suggestions?

I need it now...But thanks anyway.
"Your CDRW is Screwed"
You need a new one.
Try the connections inside. If you can get it to read a disc but not write, then reinstall the software for it.
Other than that spend the £15 needed to buy a new one off of SR.
> Get a DVD writer as a replacement, its a whole new world.
That is true. I couldn't live without mine.
