can someone recommend and decent japanese horror or action type movies please. Anything like battle royale or anatomy please.

Akira? Anime action film.

Guinea Pig, Naked Blood and the 'Guts of' trilogy are all good watching if you're into really sick films. There's also Ebola Syndrome, Bun man which are both sick little films.

Junk, Wild Zero, Bio Zombie and Versus are all the excellent Zombie film with some pretty original ideas.

Then you've got films like 'Dark Water' and 'The Eye' which are very similiar to 'The Ring' in style and are pretty scary at times.

I also recommend Evil Dead trap 1+2 and anything directed by Takeshi Miike.

Spriggan - Action
X - donno only saw the trailer.

Azumi and Princess Blade are both good, though possibly not as bloody as the other films.

Shiri is South Korean film, againd pretty good - supposedly the country's highest grossing film.

Ju-on: The Grudge is meant to be fairly good, and is going to be the next big Japanese horror film to hit the West since The Ring.

Versus is a rolicking good action horror movie, with plenty of guns, gore and stylish camera work.

Though I haven't seen them, Dark Water, The Eye and Phone are some other Eastern horror/chiller movies.

Its time to don the Beret :P
