The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
However, as technology passes our beloved machines by, there is an upside – the inevitable fall in game prices. However big your disposable income, the sheer number of great titles for both machines pretty much guarantees almost everyone to have a couple of games they’ll want to pick up on the cheap.
Companies like SR are in a great position to do something about this, but they need to know there is a demand for cheap ‘retro’ titles, and of course, which we want and which we’re happy to let slide from our memories forever.
My suggestion, we all voice our support now for cheap titles a few months down the line (assuming we support it, of course), and that we offer up some suggestions for the kind of titles we want to buy, or would if we didn’t have them already. Tony take heed.
My lists;
N64:
Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Mario 64
Super Smash Bros
Mario Golf
Mario Party 3 (or one of the games from the series)
Conkers BFD
Zelda - Ocarina of Time
Zelda – Majora’s Mask
New Tetris
F1 WGP
ISS 2000
Operation Winback (advertise it – people don’t know what they’re missing as it was overshadowed by the perfect dark hype)
Dreamcast:
Crazy Taxi
Soul Caliber
Shenmue
Half-Life
Jet Set Radio
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX
Phantasy Star Online
GTA 2
(A little shorter than N64 as I get to play Dreamcast less (friends), so I don’t know so much)
Mario is still available on the N64 'budget' label (although this is a slight contradition in terms as it usually retails at £29.99) but I believe that Nintendo 64 games are becoming harder to find from suppliers nowadays.
All in all, I think SR do a fine job with their older game prices and I think they cut the game prices down wherever possible.
Imagine what Mario 128 will be like.......HEAVEN!
(Being a Christian I use that term bluntly, which I suppose I shouldn't, but you know what I mean....Gaming Heaven...shall we say!)
:D
