I'm confused about this one. Is it going to be a supreme lookback to the days of film noir/golden sci-fi or pseudo-Hollywood pap?

Anyone else got any opinions they'd like to share? I know Harry Knowles likes it, which is usually a bad sign.

What if she goes "Yarr" then uses her superduper sci-fi gun to shoot Jude Law's chin off and then hits Paltrow for choosing a child's name as stupid as Apple?

And then downs her grog.

I think pirates are cool, I don't have a fetish though. And unless she "yarrs" and punches someone clean out and downs her grog, she ain't no pirate.

Jolie has an eyepatch, which means she could be pirate-esque. This appeals to thee, non?

And agreed, style for this film does look excellent, but I'm detecting just that little less substance... but hey :D Yeah, I'll go see it.

Jude Law in HeroicChin mode, but I like the sepia type approach, so I might see it. Last time I saw a film just on a trailer basis, it was Underworld, so I'll not get my hopes :)
