Hi, I've recently started to get some Games Magazines but wanted to get one that is for all formats. So, I got one called Gamesmaster. It was okay and it quite interesting reading what they think of all of the games etc.

Alot of you dont like Games Magazines but I dont want to know about it, can you tell me what magazine is better :

CVG (Computer Video Games)

OR

Gamesmaster

Thanks.

don't worry, "hardcore gamers" is something that means nothing anymore.
if those 2 cretins from gamezville can claim to be hardcore then to my mind it makes that title worthless :)

in related news, a mate of mines wife found one of the guys from gamezville modelling fleeces in one of her catalogues, which gives you some idea of their tv/gaming credentials ;)

of course! More retro section! The features of the mag are fine. What about expanding certain areas? I demand Retro section to get its own section and more reviews. More indepth non, questionable flawed reviews at times.

I saw GAMESMASTER in my local store today but I saw GAMES TM too, so I checked to see how much I had and I had £4.30, so I got GAMES TM so i'm gonna read it now and tell ya what I think about it later.

It did say on the website that the mag was for Hardcore gamers and I just hope it isn't too hardcore because I don't know ALOT about games.

But I do know enough.

Games TM is fantastic. Great covers and a decent retro section. That alone is worth £4. more of it would be nice though. Go on their website for full retro goodness.

I buy CVG simply for the Game Guides - saves me money and they are good. I get the mag through my post every month. I buy Gamesmaster from time-to-time. In my opinion, CVG is better, but if you go for other mags like Edge, you're not wasting your money.

Yeah, its thicker but not actually as tall or wide as other mags. Nevertheless, it is a very good mag, and for you I'd probably recommend it over Edge, as I think you'll dislike some of the retro and more techy sections of the mag.

But yeah, Games TM is good, even though I haven't bought many copies I managed to nab one still on my shelf from last year and the price was £4 exactly, so I doubt that has changed.
