The DVD player by the way cost around £130 only 2 years back. By old I mean, not the one I currently use. Has optical input, multi-region, plays CDRW, DVDRW, basically the lot.
+ Bullet works for the P.O. so he could probably pull some strings and get it delivered for free/a packet of biscuits.

Bullet lives around 20-30 minutes off so picking up wouldn't be a problem.
