I decided to play PM 2 earlier, see if I can complete it (I'm in teh Shadow Palace)
Oddly, when I start up my GC it crashes immediately, tells me to reset and check the handbook.

Ah, it's fine, I go to beat up the Shadow Trio people, it crashes as teh battle begins?

I check my disk, big greasy fingerprints, and a HUGE scratch done with a knife or something else sharp.
Considering it wasn't there when I played it the day before, and my wee brother got annoyed with me for kicking him then, I think I know what happened.
I should kill him.

Game Doctor thing might work. Doubt it if it's a deep scratch though.
You should. Seeing as the data compression rate is very high on a GC disk (understandably) you probably won't even be able to start a new game, or sell it in a store.
