I have lots of brochure files on discs which are accessed through a software package called "QuarkXPress". I have this software and within it, is the option to export as a PDF which I want to do. However when I click "export as PDF" i get the error message:

"To save a document as a PDF file, a PostScript printer must be set up to print a file."

What is a PostScript printer? Surely I don't need an actual physical printer to print to a file???

Can someone please help me out...thanks.

I'm having the exact same problem as Secret Squirrel, but the details on how SS got fixed is missing from the forum. Would you please repeat the fix for me?

Thanks all.

What's your printer? and do you have distiller installed?

Use Quark alot in my job and all you need to do is install the print postscript driver for you printer. Distiller does the rest.

Postscript printer drivers:

Tech Doc:

Product needed to create from Quark:

Distiller is the postscript printer for Quark to go to PDF, the printer driver is for printing directly from Quark. Your other option would be to export the page as an EPS and import to photoshop to create the PDFs
