My antivirus software (well it was a free trial thing) has just expired so I need to go and buy an anti virus (preferably one that doubles as a firewall) for my computers.

I'm not going to be paying for it so theres no budget constraints, but I dont want to have to spend a huge amount.

I'll probably try and buy one on eBay because generally it will probably be cheaper than a shop - though you can post links to online shops if you like.

Also, something I would like to know, is that when you buy a piece of antivirus software, will it update its virus database etc for as long as it is installed, or just for a year until the next software comes out?

I've been told Norton is crap, so can I have some more recommendations please?

I'll try and find out what my dad has later. He has some pretty good one (may be free, and yes it does double up as a firewall, far as I know) that's never let a virus through to his computer, or any on our mini network of 'pooters, so I'll have a look.
