Odds on that being bought purely because of me?

Pretty high I'd guess.

Plus it's for sale, that's quite a coincidence isn't it?

It's not exactly a desireable name, plus when you search on Google for phi11ip, 99.9% of the 1,130 results are related to me.

Oh, phi1ip.com and phi1ip.co.uk haven't been purchased either, it's just the "two one'd" version that has gone...

Also, the person who bought also lives in Australia!

I might see how much they're thinking of selling it for, I reckon they'd try and completely rip me off, not that I'm going to buy it anyway...

I wonder if I can register that name as a trademark? Hmmmmmm...

Copyright issues is a messy business, especialy with companies like eBay who automatically will moan if the domain contains ebay. I'm not sure if you can do anything by registering the name as a trademark now as it would have been registered before it was copyrighted. Correct me if I am wrong.

It's actually illegal now for someon to take a domin name and then try to sell it for more than they paid for to a person or company who may want it for them selves.

As it's a .co.uk domain and you wanted it for trademark oir whatever, you could appeal to nominet to have the domain transfered to you uner itellectual property i think.
