I would like to make a comment on a factor that everyone seems to have missed. Consoles, are no longer consoles, they are entertainment machines. This means that we will soon be able to shop on-line. People will by a Playstation 2, for there living room as a DVD player, this means that a large percent of people that would not normally buy a Games console will have access to one.
You may wonder where I am going with this, but bear with me.
I am a female games player, there aren't many of us around, but we do exist. With the factors above I have mentioned, you will soon see games designed with the emphasis on female game players. The future of gaming will accomodate all. Male, Female, Young and Old alike. Playing games has become mainstream, and with the Next Generation consoles. The even more people that are not "traditional" game players will enter the market. As a female gamer I look forward to this new transition with eagerness, as I await a Final Fantasy game with a female as the main character. (Just a dream) But in the future, anything is possible!

Sure, there are more females playing out there. But what is the difference between male and female games. Okay, most of the girls I know don't have the same violent edge as the guys (most), but there are mellower games that everyone loves, whatever gender. Meanwhile, there have been female leads in games for years, does anyone remember 'Quartet' on the master system, or 'Super Metroid' (or whatever it was called) on the NES. Then you have your Tomb Raiders and Perfect Darks.
Perhaps I'm completely wrong. What kind of games would you like to see aimed at females? Ones the likes of which you can't already get.
