Pastors will work at weekends from 10pm to 4am and, according to the press release, "are trained in many areas including conflict resolution, counselling skills, drug awareness, and social historic development".
(What is social historic development and how do you discuss it with someone who has just fallen out of a club on Whitworth Street at 2am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning?)
The team comes from very different backgrounds and includes a business manager, a receptionist and a chef.
Candace James, street pastor and single mother, said: "I live on what many people would describe as a dangerous estate. I've had first hand experience of the fear gangs instill into communities.
"Yes, I am aware of the dangers and I don't relish being out on the streets late at night, but the opportunity to reach the marginalised in our society with the love of God makes the risks worthwhile. I believe every gang member that I've met has within them a heart of gold. I want to build relationships of trust with them and show them love and respect."
I wouldn't like to do it.

Mm, yeah I guess. I thought the comedy black sidekick was fairly rubbish though. Poor guy must have wondered whether the emancipation proclaimation ever happened.

Bwah ha ha haaaa! Man, this is funnier than reading Belldandy's sad attempts at a witty comeback...
Oh, was I meant to be offended? Hell Mary; the only thing that offends me is that poor excuse for humour. Why not try:
Q - How many evolutionists does it take to change a lightbulb?
A - None; in 10 million years they're used to darkness
Q - Why did the evolutionist cross the road?
A - To prove that chickens are descended from a civilised dinosaur race.
Both of these 'jokes' are p!ss poor Mary. But you know what? I don't squeal and wail about someone making a joke about something I'm favourably disposed towards. I have what is called 'a sense of humour' and am aware of fabled beasts named 'jokes'. You should maybe think about reading up on them...

That film was cack. Harold Ramis' best work was done in the 80s, and not even Stifler could save it.
The end.

Yes, I do. And looks like I'm not the only one. And d'you know what? You can't actually stop me posting stuff like this (which is more to amuse myself than anything else). I guess...why, I guess you'll just have to go and develop a sense of humour.
Of course, if you stopped running crying from all the questions you've been asked, displayed some backbone and humility, and generally behaved like the good christian you purport to be rather than a self-centred coward, well then I'd actually apologise for any offense caused. But as it's you...well, you see where I'm going with this.
