Hi de hi, campers.

Broadband is very much beginning to hove into sight. PlusNet is looking like the service we're going with. Now, they offer you a USB modem at £44.99, a PCI modem at £34.99, a 1-Port router at £69.99, and a 4-Port router at £79.99.

We've got 2 computers in seperate rooms, and wish to be able to have both connected to t'internet simultaneously. So this is where a router is needed, non?

I pretty much would like recommendations with modems and routers. Are those prices any good, or should I look about Ebuyer? When it comes to broadband related hardware, I haven't really a clue - so any links to decently priced decent modems/routers would be muchly appreciated (plus anything else).

Cheers.

I bought a Netgear router for £97.00 and its a mistake never ever buy the 54G Wirless model, it stops me viewing sites, gaming and other stuff. As soon as i reboot it its then ok. Strange hey.
Well if your looking for any PC Accessories you can look here some cheap stuff. Apparently its UK only though.

Go with the one Biggles said, I have that one with BT 1MB and it's an excellent router, I use it for LIVE and the PC using Ethernet connections however you can also go with USB into the PC as it caters for both types of connection. Has only ever dropped connection twice and that was online with Pandora Tomorrow with a stupidly laggy server from some American moron. Aside from that it is an excellent piece of equipment that won't let you down, especially at that price.

Don't bother with the review section either with people saying it drops connection, that was the first Firmware released with the Drivers on disc however since then all of them are sold with the latest Firmware and Drivers which correct this issue.

Fantastic router and even better for that price. I had a wireless card by the same people for my laptop, and it had issues, but the router is fantastic. They also do a standard wired version.

This is the one I have http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=696622381&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=52244

I don't know what make of router Plusnet Supply, but you'd be better going connection-only and buying your own. This DG834G is absolutely fantastic, easy to set up and very reliable. It doesn't cost too much these days either.

There is also the option to have a Wireless card adaptor, if you have a laptop. This is something like £80-odd .

It has 4 ports, Wireless frequencies up to 802.11g (one of the fastest) and has a website-style setup util which couldn't be easier to navigate.

I'd personally always recommend Netgear products.
