You might as well - it'll be cheaper in the long run, it's still the most popular version (literally hundreds of available games running) and Steam is really easy to use.

Condition Zero also runs through Steam BTW, but to be honest, it's not very good.
Steam runs separate from Condition Zero. It's basically a server access platform for the older games. Everything from the Original Half Life to Counter-Strike to Blue Shift runs through Steam, although you will need the CD-Key of an original Half Life/Blue Shift to be able to play through Steam.
They say CounterStrike is free, but they don't tell you that you need Half Life too.

wait wait so u download the steam thing and then you have all the old stuff? so u can choose if u want to play old stuff or new stuff?
