Ok thanks. I had a feeling it wouldn't work. Oh well, I'll just have to leave my PC running through the night again!

In short, yes. Same with Hibernate too as it kills you connection to the internet. The only way is to log out using WinKey+L and leave it. But this leaves your PC running still.
