You can't compare the Italy match to the England match!

Italy got knocked out of the Group Stages because of their own results. You should have no complaints. It was in your own hands and should have beaten Sweden and Denmark instead of drawing them.

England match was different, as it was the match itself that looked like it was fixed. Disallowing perfectly good goals is another matter. It was a waste of time playing if the refs on the other side.

SHUT UP. YOU WOULDN'T OF ADVANCED FURTHER THAN THE QUARTERS ANYWAY. YOUR PLAYERS HAVE FLOWN HOME VERY EARLY AND WON'T FLY BACK. YOU R OUT.

Look, it's fine to criticise the referee for his decisons, and yes, changes should be made- I think a video referee like in cricket and rugby union would be the way forward. But what's the point in all this abuse? He made a mistake, a big mistake. But don't we all? All that needs to be done is for a backup system to be put in, and there you have it. These problems have always existed, but this is one of the worst and has brought attention to it. The open ended abuse is not at all necessary- what is needed is change.

It may also be due to bias (The referee being Swiss, and we whacked them 3-0, remember), but it's all over and done with- except in the case of failing drugs tests, results stand. Unfortunately enough in this case, the referee has the final word. Problems exist until they are addressed, and this one is very important not just for national pride but also for the good of the game which, ironically, is the motto of FIFA.
