I'm not going for a kneejerk reaction, but there are some serious issues that need addressing.

His football bores me to death, loves big names and has the tactical skills of Howard wilkinson.

His squad was ok i have to admit, though there are a few dodgy players in it. Phil neville being the most obvious.

Its his tactics i cant stand. I am man enough to take a defeat, but not when we contribute to our own downfall.

He has finally got rid of his bloody diamond formation, but keeps sneaking it back in in matches. Arguably it worked tonight as lampard moved up the diamond to score, but it must be noted that we conceded with in 5 minutes of switching to it.

His tactics are just downright suicidal against France and Portugal, he brought Hargreaves and Phil blooddy Neville on. What's that all about. we were just inviting the opposition to come at us, and surprise surprise in both games we conceded. What a prat, I'm not joking at the mo, although i might calm down a bit later but i am pretty sure i want him out. I have actually never been this p****d off with an england manager and never really wanted one to quit but sven is testing me with his insane substitutions (no ranieri comments please) and his persistence to play Owen and Beckham even when they are horrendously off form.

Ok Owen scored, but again i didn't think he looked the world class striker he is supposed to be and didn't really alter my views on giving chances to other. I don't even want to talk about Beckham, we have accepted over 2 years of england team mediocracy from him, in fact since he got injured i don't actually remember a good england match from him. I have been ranting about this since before Euro 2004 and now its all come home to roost. Did nothing all tournament. Missed a peno and got us a much harder game. Missed a peno and got us eliminated. It annoys me vastly. Ok maybe i can forgive penalty misses, but why doesn't he let somebody else take them. Ok, whatever happened he would have taken one and i would have agreed with that, but nooooooooooo, he has to take first penalty. He clearly isn't the best at them and that effort clearly highlighted the fact. Its the attitude of having to be the one to do everything, that annoys me. A good leader knows when to stand aside and let someone else carry the team.

Sven needs to have a bit of courage after this tournament. By all means play them, but if they don't perform give other people a go. This was the attitude that kept frank lampard out of the team. He finally gets a chance, and look who ends the tournament with 3 goals all from open play.............

Over all i think he should probably stay, and may in time get it right but he needs to question his policies and have more courage if he is to stay otherwise i am not sure i want him in charge anymore.

For me, a foreigner's never gonna get it right - and I fear we'll have another one in-place as soon as Eriksson's reign does come to an end.

It needs to be an Englishman; someone who truly understands English Football and the men who work within it.

That's one thing I feel Eriksson really doesn't watch - he can go watch twice as many Premiership games as he did last season and he still won't have it. He seems to play it too much like club football - and that's what I think he should stick to.

I reckon he'll be happy in a few more weeks anyway, so long as Sweden beat the Netherlands. With the way they've been so far, I think they stand a great chance of going all-the-way, due to their organisation.

And what had Eriksson been crying for, all bloodshot-eyed during that post-match interview? You can understand why Michael Owen sounded (and looked) like he'd been kicked in the balls, being English, but, had the Swede just missed out on an extra £250,000 win-bonus for his wife or something??

What I think Sven did totally wrong, against both France and Portugal, was defending the 1 - 0 lead instead of going back at them and scoring another and then maybe defending. That is what lost us the matches, because the defence was under pressure all the time.

I think it is time for Sven to go, we need a manger with good tactics and is on the side line a lot shouting at the players to do things, rather than just sitting back and 'relaxing' like Sven.

Welcome to the real world, Ashley! :D

I'd love to see Eriksson go (probably) more than anyone else on these forums, but I still see these things in the way we play that make me think I could even get behind him, if only he'd change things.

I could sit here all-night and come up with an entire list of all I feel he needs to do to turn things around for us, and how things could've so-easily gone our way towards eventually winning the torunament...
But, you seem to have picked-up most of them, and I've listed some of the other greater problems in other threads. But, he has seriously got to have the guts to put his own reptutation aside in order to drop people like David Beckham when they clearly aren't up-for-it. Make a bold descision and give more youth a chance. If it can work with Wayne Rooney, Defoe should be in there no questions asked.

It really does my head in... I want to be a real England fan and get right-behind my country in a major tournament, but the way we play under him - Swedish or not - I feel ashamed to wear the colours of St.George.

I'll be interested to see what he does do next and I think we all should keep our eyes open too. If he's even half-as-great as the media have made him out to be, soon will come the time when he really shows us why he's on a staggering £3.5m-a-year.

It's now or never. If things don't change on the pitch, it's all up to the FA.

in this kind of match attack is the best defence. You defend that early and you are only likely to concede. We always do it wen we go ahead so early (germany 96, Argentina when we went 2-1 up quickly, brazil) it is so infuriating.

What annoys me is that England could have easily gone through. They proved when scoring the goal in extra time, that if they want to score a goal, they can. So why did they start defending after goal one? It just seems strange that they could quite easily go out and get another.
