My favourite film is probably Vertigo, which was tense throughout. However, there was Carlito's way that I really liked. Also in the comedy stakes, Naked Gun would be my favourite. More recently mission:impossible or face/off would be some of my favourites
As for actors, I think that Brad Pitt is a very good actor, especially in twelve monkeys, when he plays a mental patient briliantly.
It probably depends on what mood, i'm in, or what I feel like at the time, what my favourite is, so I can't give a definitive answer, but those are films that I really liked.
