no worries mate, that was precisely my rection too :)
They'll need to, first of all, whether your eyes will be fine with them and, then, how-often you're likely to want to wear them (so they know which lenses are best-suited to you, price-wise).
But, if you're eyes are too sensitive, and you can't keep them in, you'll be out of luck.
Daily ones are good is you don't want to wear them that often. Usually about £30 for a pack of 30 pairs, and you just chuck 'em out once you're worn them. Otherwise, like me, if you want to wear them almost every day, you'll be better off with monthyl/fortnightly ones, which work out cheaper at £15 a month, but also require cleaning and good looking after each time you take them out.
I think you can also get YEARLY ones, too...! :o
I've got monthly ones that I get changed every 2 weeks. It's good that way. Unless, of course, you manage to rip the thing within your first week!

Don't you find them irritating, the idea if having something stuck to my eyes has put me off slightly as well.

if i could've bought some to practice with it would've been fine, but they have to see you put them in before you can buy :-\

Maybe..
However just hope that your eyes agree with them. Although eyes don't really react terribly badly it's just a bummer if you can't wear them. I've got monthly ones that I get a sixth month supply of in advance after getting my eyes checked. They just add a few minutes on to each end of the day for putting them in and taking them out.
