Wanting to grab some audio CD's from the states, does it work in the same way DVD's; region definied? Or will a US CD play on UK CD player without any problems?

no regions for CD's mate.
No problem at all with standard audio CDs, though I don't know if they've done anything special with this newfangled copy protection, or SACDs...
thats why you can get import albums from America before theyre released in the UK, and why play.com make profit by using thai CD's that are much cheaper over there but work perfect over here.
