Right, here is the situation guys. I have three computers connecting to the internet via a router on a 1024/256 connection. I would like to limit one of those computers to only having a limited amount of bandwidth...

I know that I cannot do this on my computer as the second computer does not connect through this one, it connects directly through the router. The router is a D-Link DSL-504 (Rev B).

I wondered if I could install a piece of software on the other computer to make it not use as much bandwidth.

Could somebody please advise...

Thank you very much, it has worked. I installed it on the computer in the other room and now it is limited to 35/17k rather than eating up all my bandwidth for downloading. Thanks again.

www.netlimiter.com. It's not free, but it's an outrageously good bit of software.
