All the stadiums are being rebuilt or built from scratch. I've seen an article in the Telegraph Sport supplement, and only the main stadium (The one used by the national team) is being hardly modified.

World cup continent rotation is ridiculously unfair. on rotation around regardless of the fact that the highest proportion of top footballing nations deserving to qualify are from europe and SA
we get done over violence and hooliganism when crime rates are ridiculously higher in SA.
I actually don't have to much of a problem with SA having the world cup,you are pretty well dveloped and have the infrastructure to cope with it. i just think over all it is outweighed by the cons, but i would have been outraged if it had gone to one of the other candidates.
And yet, why does this make it a bad place for a tournament? It's not like Aids isn't in Germany or Portugal - 1 in 5 people in Portugal live in poverty. Bad place for a tournament?

Well, it's a bloody epidemic there. The government ignored it in the 1990s and are now having to face up to the consequences.

South Africa has held rugby and cricket world cups with little trouble (Apart from the problems surrounding using branded items at some cricket grounds, but that was resolved). Plus, some decent new stadiums have been built. And any crime problems will be avoided, because the poorer areas are nowhere near the stadiums.
