Italian side Parma could be looking to sign Arsenal defender Pascal Cygan.
Newly-promoted French side St Etienne had been hoping to sign the 30-year-old stopper on a season-long loan deal.
Parma are now eyeing the former Lille man and hope to swoop in with a bid for him to rival St Etienne.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger may be reluctant to allow Cygan to leave Highbury, after the departure of both Martin Keown and Igors Stepanovs.
Cygan made 15 appearances last season and is back-up defender to Sol Campbell and Kolo Toure.
