Right, I'm just back from holiday and working through the CD's you sent me - many thanks!

I'll do you both the same cd, it'll be a disc of mp3's rather than an audio cd, if that's ok with the two of you?

Give me a couple of days to sort myself out and decided what tracks etc, and hopefully I'll have them in the post by the end of the week.

Cheers.

Argh!

I keep trying to upload music and it keeps rejecting me!

What am I doing wrong? :-)

I'd email it, but it won't fit. :-)

I just listened to Crystal Ambience and Tribal and they were actually
alright! Shame on me. I don't mean this as an insult but they
sounded a bit like old computer game music.

You sound surprised :-)

I think that Crystal Ambience is one of the best chill out tracks I've heard.

Incidentally, do you ever listen to Gilles Peterson on Radio 1? He
plays stuff by most of the people on the CD you made and it's a
really excellent place to hear new music. It's a really eclectic
show, which I really like. It's on Wednesdays at midnight but moving
to Sundays at eleven soon.

I don't listen to Radio 1 any more, I do however listen to XFM, and they have two great shows on. Flo-Motion is on sundays 9pm 'til midnight and The Third Place follows on for one hour. http://xfm.co.uk/sectional.asp?b=onair&id=344

That's okay. I used to have Ejay 3, 4 and 5 and I used to mess around on it with my mates. We eventually got bored and moved on to play games like Splinter Cell. The new MTV Music Generator 3 seems to be very good if you like Ejay.

I've had a look at Fruity Loops, but it's a bit in-depth for me.

I only do it for a bit of a laugh really, it's not something I take seriously and want to invest lots of time/money in.

No problem. If you like making that sorta stuff, there is other packages like 'Fruitloops' and 'ReCycle'. 'Reason' is your best bet, but it is a mighty set-back of £300. There are places like Hard To Find Records that sell that stuff and try 'Computer Music' magazine.

Ouch. Not tried any of this .NET stuff myself yet - from next year all my open university work will be in Java so learning that language has been taking up most of my computer spare time. It's a dream to work with though. Good luck with the job hunting.

Haven't been at it for a while now. I'm job hunting and getting my sh*t in order as I'm redundant due to a factory closure this Wednesday. Unfortunately, trying to get a little experience in .NET c# and VB has seriously affected my free time and I need to concentrate on that.

Still, I might get time to go back to it at some point. I hope so. Especially as I’ll be signing on come Thursday. 2:1 degree las**t year, over 6 years commercial PICK programming and analysis experience, webmas**ter and web developer and can I get another job? Can I hell. Still, a few “irons in the fire” so to speak.
