(Ill be paying by monthly installments - no I dont have vast amounts of money to chuck around)
However I was thinking, that as my TFT monitor can only hit max resolutions of 1280 x 1024.Theres no point in getting an XT X800 as I would never use the higher power requiring resolutions of 1600 x 1200.
Im sure the PRO version is sufficient to run all the newest and forthcoming DX9 games at 1280 x 1024 with all options maxxed out at a playable frame rate of over 45 fps.
With my Uni departure impending, I did consider selling the TFT for a high quality 19" flatscreen CRT that could do 1600 x 1200 but the weight and space requirements had me reeling.
So theres something for all you X800 XT considering people...
[Edit] - Those damn typos
Any thoughts??

With everything turned on even with an X800 XT I find it hard to imagine that people could achieve decent frame rates on the resolution you mentioned. I am unsure of whether to get an X800 XT or just wait for PCI Express, money isn't an object really but I dobut the performance leap will be that huge between a 9800 XT and an X800 XT with the current crop of games.
Picked up Thief 3 tonight and can have the settings whacked really high and still achieve a decent frame rate and it is one of the nicest looking titles to hit the PC. Going by the latest engine for Thief and my current graphics card I can't personally see what more is going to be achieved between now and Half Life 2 and by that time PCI Express will be available which is where the next big thing is.
Not too sure what else to say to be honest, depends how pedantic you are.
