I voted UKIP too. As long as I get more beef for my money, I don't care.

Ok, hang on, so the UKIP's policies are:

1) Getting Britain out of the EU
2) Getting Britain out of the EU
and then
3) Getting Britain out of the EU

Well, that's a sound policy for...er...well, nothing really, apart from getting Britain out of a thriving ecomomy so they can be the 51st State of the US.

Heh. Well, with someone as well respected as you singing their praises on this board, I'm sure everyone will see that they are a party of tolerance and respect for those who are different to themselves....

The UK Independence Party is committed to withdrawing Britain from the European Union. As the debate on the new Constitution has now made clear, the EU agenda is complete political union with all the main functions of national government taken over by the bureaucratic institutions of Brussels.

UKIP believes that this is not only bad for Britain's economy and prosperity, but it is an alien system of government that will ultimately prove to be totally unacceptable to the British people. UKIP would replace Britain's membership of the European Union with the kind of agreements on free trade and co-operation that we thought we had signed up to when we first joined what was then called the European Community..

The UK Independence Party is the fourth largest political party in the UK. We currently have 3 members of the European Parliament who use their positions exclusively to expose the true nature of the EU and to campaign for British withdrawal. Our party has a full range of policies including a firm line on immigration. A policy of non-discrimination is enshrined in our constitution.

Anyone read this? It's from the UKIP website, glad to see there are non-racist parties committed to getting Britain out the EU.

Heh.

'Vote UKIP; the middle-class face of racism'
'Vote BNP; thuggery with a smile'

What really REALLY bugs me about both of these parties is that they're incapable of saying how great our country is without slagging off other nationalities. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't read the bit that says "to love your own country, you must hate all others".

So to prove your love for your nation at the polls, you must vote either for an opportunist party who's main objection to Europe is 'it's run by foreigners' (they couldn't even object to something worthy, like the bureacracy, or the excessive red tape, or the lack of transparency in EU decision making) or for a bunch of thugs who'll beat you up for having too dark a tan if the mood takes them.

Neither wonder patriotism doesn't really exist in England any more...

But, if we vote, won't these people still get killed anyway?

People who "can't be bothered to vote" annoy me somewhat.
You're lucky enough to have the priviliege of voting, yet you squander it?

Hmmm.
People are killed for trying to make an influence on their country's political stance, yet here people don't vote "because they can't be bothered".

Granted - the European elections don't bother people as much (argh, as to say, they feel it won't have much effect on their life as for them to make the very minute effort) as such - but still.

I didn't care enough to vote, so I let my dad decide - UKIP it appears, although whether that's a good choice or not I have no idea.
