A few weeks ago I had what I can only describe as an out of body experiance. In the middle of the night I woke up and had sleep paralysis. This Is nothing new to me, as I often have it. While I was lying there I could hear footsteps in the room and I thought one of the kids was up. A few seconds later in a blind panic I saw a white light that engulfed the bedroom. The light filled my body with a lovely heat. I could then feel my body rise up off the bed. As I did this I thought I was going to die and leave the kids. That panic brought me straight back down into my body. I then found I was able to move and woke up my husband. He had felt nothing. I do not drink and I do not take drugs. Has anyone had an experiance that was the same?
I've experienced something similiar many times in the past - a kind of energy rush through the head, like an overpowering crackling frequency, and then the realization that I am consciously separate and flying above my body even though I can see my body is asleep. But is it astral projection? Or is it merely an altered state of consciousness? - i.e. lucid dreaming.
