Forget the example below, it has been messed up. There was ment to be two columns of text.

The reason why I didn't first mention a 3 column table is I've found that when having a paragraph of text in the center column, and then some text in the left column, the text in the center one seems to destroy the layout of the left column.

Like this....

---------------------------------------------------------

blah, blah, blah,
I'm a lonely text line blah, blah, blah,
blah, etc, etc, blah
blah, etc...
Come back my lonely pal.
We still love you and wont
you back into our family.

----------------------------------------------------------

See what I mean? The same happens to the right column and when big pictures are used in a line.

Not going to give you the full code, but just for pointers:

Initial container: All you need is a 3 coloumn table, easy. The rest can be sone using clean semantic markup and CSS (or may be not, depending how styled you want it) ie;

Center Column

small text

Heading

Small text

Title

Small Text

Voila, simple!

Yeh, CSS is invaluable as you can control sooooooo much about a page using fairly simple commands.

Remeber that it also takes less code, and you can use it on every page so you can edit the site just by editing 1 css document.

I'm sure HTML can, it's just that CSS is a tidier and (in my opinion) more straightfoward thing to learn,as layout and content is kept separate. CSS is compatible with all modern browsers, Firefox being the most compliant.

So html can't do it on its own? Is CSS compatible with all browsers just like html is?

Learn/+ use CSS. You need three
headings probably, left, right, and content for the stream down the middle.
