Meh. The miracle of desperate producers trying to get a nobody actor to actually appear in a straight to video film.
Did anyone notice that the female Sargent in Starship troopers 2 was the Captain of Denise Richards Starship that got squashed under the blast doors in starship troopers 1??. Back from the dead eh, the miracles of future medicine perhaps?

The first film is great. However, it didn't have a big name star, was overlooked for an Oscar for its effects and didn't make them any money (flopped) so it was unlikely they'd put the same effort in for the sequel.

Not always. Just because a film can't get a good distribution deal, doesn't mean it's crap. For a good example watch Death To Smoochie.

The first was absolute quality! Mindless alien bug blasting! but the second is total puss, it dosnt even have any real bugs in it! Just a bunch of rubbish actors, disgustingly diabolical script and p!ss poor directing. Surprised it wasnt given a better chance as everyone was dieing for a good sequael...
