I'm thinking of buying a comcorder soon. Ive never had one, and hardly ever used anyone elses so I dont really have the first clue what to look for. I Don't trust the sales guys in the shops to tell me about them properly because they just want to make a sale. This is the part where I ask for your help.

What are the key things to look for in a camcorder?

What I do know is I want something fairly lightweight/small, idealy with one of those rotating screens on it. Other than that I have no idea what i'm looking for. Can you get them that link to your computer rather than a video recorder because that would be ideal (unless they are very expensive)

I'll just be using it to mess about filming my mates, so I dont need anything too good.

Any help is apreciated.

What are the different types that can be conected to a computer? Ive seen a Sony camcorder that says it has USB connectivity and streaming, do you know what that means?

Linking one up to a computer would require editing software, and one of many types of digital camcorder. I have this one:

And haven't had too many problems with it, does pretty much all I want it to along with the "Pinnacle" editing software. Anyway, look into it long and hard, you need to research a few things along these lines to make sure you get what you want. On the other hand, just ask Mojo. :-)
