I really want the new Slipknot CD and I was wondering if it was any good. I have heard a few of their new songs and they are really good.

I have the album and it does kick ass. It's a lot different to their other stuff in that it has more garage influence what with Craig and Sid having more influence that usual. Also there is an acoustic song on there which makes a difference.
It is definately more melodic than the other albums and i'd definately recommend it,

It's not gothic, it falls under the umbrella of Nu Metal, more specifically I think it would be further categorised as thrash-metal.
Gothic is a totally different genre altogether.

I'm not a fan of Slipknot or any other weird gothic band (I listen to real heavy metal), but I've heard that the new album is more refined than their previous efforts, so if you are a fan, get it.
