The Plague, Bubonic Plague, Black Death, whatever, it's back!!!054m4 81n 14d3n - And this time it's personal, or something.

So, apparently it's been laying dormant for all these years, and just needs the nudge of another virus to get it going again. And the evidence for this? Well, it's just a "theory" so far, but it could become as big a global harbinger of hazard as SARS (whatever happened to that? Oh yeah, Beckham got a haircut...)

And this is how much they're fishing for a link:
"These factors, combined with the increased threat of bio-terrorism, may allow for the re-emergence of the virus as an even more ruthless killer."

Exsqueeze me? Bacon powder?? The article is about the disease laying dormant naturally, so you decide to bring terrorism into it? Muuuuuh.

And this is how the scientists did their research:
"They examined eyewitness accounts as well as accounts by several famous figures who escaped infection, including Henry VIII and William Shakespeare."

Shakespeare? Hang on, wasn't he that bloke that made up half the words he used, turned everything he wrote into a tragedy, and was on LSD whilst writing? And Henry VIII, didn't he change the Bible to suit his own needs? Reliable eyewitnesses that died 300 years ago indeed...

Oh, and this is how threatening it is:
"Globally the disease still affects between 1,000 to 3,000 people a year. However, if caught early it can be cured with antibiotics."

I'm quitting Uni and building a shelter right now. Just for me though, anyone that tries to get in will get the business end of my shotgun down their throats. Now get off moi land!

It's either UFO doc. on the History Channel, or Takeshi's Castle. Ah, the joys of cable.

It'd look cool though. I like the mystery of finding a dead body, in the middle of Cambridge or London after the plague has struck again, with a Samurai mask on. The sort of story the History channel would devote an hour to.

A Samurai mask? That's not going to do you any good.

They seem ot keep out paint fumes, so they're probably the best deterrent against bio-terrorism. Anyway, being a policeman an' all, you'll have seen that video on what to do, right?

I used to worry about dormant dinosaurs coming back to life and destroying the planet until I realised that we'd simply use our tanks and fighter planes to eradicate them.

So much for Greenpeace!
