Although Willis was quite humourous in Moonlighting all those years ago, I just finished watching 'The Whole Nine Yards', which is a pretty much slap-stick black comedy, and he was excellent in it along side Matthew Perry, who I'd never really considered as a film actor before, I think this was the first film I've seen where he's had a starring role.
Before this movie, serious actors/actresses doing comedy films was never really my thing, like Death Becomes Her, Kindergarden Cop and so on; big stars, but not shining in the laughs department, normally relying on their co-stars to provide the main fun.
But Bruce Willis in this movie was absolutely brilliant, although Perry did really steal it.
It's such a nice change to see actors who normally only play one cameo role after another again and again to do something different, I'm sure they enjoy the challenge of putting their talents towards something a bit different as well. There should be more films like this though.
