We needed to get a defender in after Dublin and Johnson were released. Hopefully Laursen can form a great partnership with Mellberg.

Not sure how good he actually is, but we'll see that in Euro 2004.

Don't know what Ellis is smoking, but you can't have a go at the players for finishing 6th, missing out on Europe by goal difference.

Even O'Leary praised the players for a great season in which we were supposed to be fighting relegation.

Don't know what Ellis will want us to do next season, but I'd be happy to finish 6th again. I'm just hoping we can get the Carling Cup.

3 million for Laursen? But, I thought that was the same amount of money going into the Mark van Bommel transfer, and that Villa only had £6m to spend in the first place?

Plus, from what I've ready today, Doug Ellis wasn't very happy with their end-of-season finish either.

Good realible defender and not bad for for £3 mill, will have to get used to the pace of the premeirship specially as he hasn't played much this year - if he can do that then O'Leary has made a shrewd signing.

Not a bad player, and a good signing.

Not as good as the 1.2 million signing of Gronjaer (apparently) by Birmingham, but still.

I thought it was Ulrik Laursen at first and I was about to laugh. But as it's Martin Laursen then that's ok. :-D
