Hi,

I have htpatch.exe running at startup (well I don't at the moment, I've moved it until I know what it is) and I want to know what it is. It has the barcode like icon. What is it and is it needed?

Thanks

What is hyperthreading? Is it worth activating it?

It's meant to be on my laptop but when I went to the screen it wasn't there...

Maybe I went to the wrong place...

I know what it does, (I don't know why I posted that first bit,) I just wondered if it was worth activating it? Will it reduce the battery life further on my laptop, increased risk of crashing etc?

It's disabled for a reason, and I know that once it starts it just can't stop...

Right, well thats a pointless peice of software, what with me not having a HT CPU, and also with the problem of the only HT CPU I can use with this motherboard is the 3.06 P4 with the 533FSB so it is pointless. I'll leave it on the system but remove it from startup.

Should be no increased risk of crashing, but I don't know wherther it will effect battery life.

The folloing video shows the benefits of HyperThreading speed wise:

or

Depending on which server you get the fastest speed on.
