Once upon a time there was a website called thefantastictortoise.com, and was run by a rather strange but reasonably attractive person called... for the story's sake... Darren.
All was happy in the land of thefantastictortoise.com, and Darren decided to set up an email account with that address, cunningly named '[email protected]'
Content with himself, Darren then decided to receive emails from people whom he loved, wonderful news-letters and even the occasional spam.
One day, Darren decided to order broadband. Giddy with excitement, he typed in his email address to sign up, paid up, and waited.
And waited.
The next day he noticed that thefantastictortoise.com didn't belong to him anymore.
*wibbly flashback*
He had asked a friend to renew the domain for him (who runs the server), but unfortunately due to laziness on everyone's behalf, it -kinda- got forgot about.
*unwibble*
Panicked, Darren tried sending himself an email, and was surprised to find it arrived.
But all was not as it seemed, for his mail server still believed that the domain belonged to him, while everyone else had already decided it hadn't.
Pansy Darren cried softly to himself, realising that all his lovely emails that people sent him about having bigger penii, and confirmation for broadband, were lost.

Help? I'd ask my friend for help but he's not here at the moment, wondered if anyone had any idea how I could retrieve my mail.

Playing chess? Fair enough...
Set up a mail trap on the live site to forward to a different mail box or change the return address to another email account.

... I'm just going to buy a domain name - carry on, nothing to see here.

What went wrong Grix? I though we renewed our own domains, especially as I have all the paperwork for mine?
