Portishead's Dummy is a modern classic, brilliant from start to finish.
Sia's been around for a few years, she actually had a big(ish) hit in 2000 with Taken For Granted, which was really a bit of a novelty tune because it sampled a Prokofiev tune. The album it came from, Healing Is Difficult, is rather patchy - a little too idiosyncratic for me. I quite liked her album from this year, Colour The Small One, which is more in the laid-back style of Zero 7.
Beth Gibbons it be.

Beth Gibbons, I've now discovered.
Has anyone heard Sia's new album? I think I'm in love...
