Just bought an iPod today (after Months of telling myself I wouldn't) and upon installing iTunes, it tells me I cannot purchase music via the service. Is this normal? I thought the UK could now buy music from it?!

If I need to alter any settings or anything, please let me know - I'd rather use this fantastic service now I've had first-hand experience of just how good it is.

Ta.

p.s. It says something about my billing address needing to be in the USA. Can't I make one up?

I much prefer iTunes to WMP... sync's with my iPod, rips to AAC/Mp3, a MUCH better library control system... and once ITMS opens here it'll be the ultimate app.

Did you guys read over at ipodlounge.com about tracks being raised to $1.25? Luckily it was unconfirmed, and later denied by Apple, but I expect it to happen... just when I don't know.

If it does, I might not use iTMS after all.

I've been waiting a while to see the iTunes music store come to the UK. Especially because quite a few of the bands I like have new stuff exclusive to iTunes now.

Been trying to find a travel case for my Ipod, monster do one called the iCase which looks good but it costs £55 to deliver (does come with a car charger and headphone splitter though which is good) but I could get one from America for about £40 + delivery. Only thing is I can't find any places that will ship to the UK. Might try get my cousin to send me one over.

Any idea when the music store will be available in the Uk?

This is normal - you can only buy music using iTunes if you have a USA billing address. You could make one up but then when they try and verify your credit card it'll fail.

It's all down to licensing and copyright laws - they're trying to get a European/British version up and running as we speak - http://www.macobserver.com/article/2004/01/29.6.shtml .
