I'm currently on study leave from school now, and I was just wondering if any of you would share your revision techniques with me, I’ve got a whole load of CPG books, what do I do, take notes, read it or what?

(Sorry for sounding dumb, but I’ve never been big on revision and need some help)

Yeah mindmaps and spider diagrams are definitely the war forward. They take quite a while to do but you can put a whole topic on one. Use loads of colours and stuff.

For Geo and Phys (if you take them), most definitely do the mind map like Saggy said. I had Geo today, and I don't think I'd have done anywhere near as well had I not done a mind map thing a week or so ago.
Like, write glaciers, then add everything you remember, and rivers, then add everything you can remember and so on.
Then look at your notes etc and finalise it.

I've got my physics exam on the 28th, and I'll most definitely be doing a mind map with the 467 equations etc.
Ah, God bless equations.

It might seem monotonous, but I think running over notes and information then condensing them into short "note style" bullet points its a good method.

Or do what saggy said.

Create a mind map, or maps, for each subject. For example, photosynthesis. You write the word "photosynthesis" in the middle of a blank page and then create threads which attach to this word. Like Sun, chlorophyll, gases. It's up to you how you do this, using colours or symbols or diagrams, basically the first thing that comes into your mind when you think of these different things. It is easier to remember symbols or pictures, and their associated facts/figures then to remember the facts and figures directly.

The link below explains this all better than I can

Hope this helps.
