"Speed Cutting..."

So much for 'ALL the time, fast internet for an extra £15 a month.' Freeserve (Now called "wannado" or something) have now (I think) Cut my internet speed down. The internet is ALOT slower and downloads are crawling.

I read somewhere that this happened to someone and they phoned up their ISP only to get "well in your contract you agreed that if we feel that you are using un-necessary amounts of bandwidth we can cut you speed and bandwidth down." I'm REALLY hoping its my pc being a beach but I doubt it. (it may be a sheet PC but its only the internet that’s being annoying)

People I know download ALOT more then me (I don’t even download things like '300MB VIDEO CLIP!!!!1111111111112212FIFTYSIX'(you get the idea.)) and they still think I’m using it too much.


Hopefully going to get a program tomorrow to see if it really has changed (the connection speed) and if it had…well….*cleans baseball bat*

How much do you pay for the service? As Wanadoo have a number of services all with different monthly limits. So say you pay £17.99 a month then you get 2Gb download ever month, so use it up and you get punished. So this speed cutting is what they have as punishment. So what speed are you now running at ?

I had problems with Freeserve in the past (not like the one you're experiencing though). I'm also with BT and have my main PC, lappy, Xbox Live and PS2 connected to it. The connection is used virtually all day and I've never had a reduction in performance.

The only recent trouble I had was due to a faulty piece of equipment outside the house.
