Had I had even more money, I would have gone for the Dolby Surround version, but I wasn't really keen on having the speaker built in to the TV stand, as these models do, I already had a nice wooden stand for it to go on.
The Nicam version is still a match in every other way to it's brother, it will show 60khz as well as the standard picture at 50khz, excellent if you have a Dreamcast or want to watch American videos or DVDs. It also has twin Scart sockets, very handy if you have lots of signals coming in to the TV as it will give you more chance to get the best picture and sound from them. The screen is perfect, although not entirely flat and shows all the DVD picture qualities that you expect. It's also ideal for a digital signal, much better than getting a TV with a digital tuner built in (something I would recommend against as the technology changes so fast.)
Can I think of a bad point? Well there's a lot of static when you turn the TV off, but this is the case with most big televisions these days. The Smart picture switching can get confused with widescreen TV signals as well, but that's about it though. The Sony name comes up trumps again as far as quality and options and I'm very happy with this lovely addition to my home cinema kit.
